She partnered with patients and their families to navigate proficiently through the complexities of the Canadian health care system. Alana worked as a Social Worker at Women’s College Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto East General Hospital, Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care and Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), giving her a broad perspective on the challenges and crises people face throughout their lives.
Alana is dedicated to providing client-centered care, working together to form a collaborative and therapeutic relationship and to be a support, resource and advocate for her clients. Alana draws upon her experience using a combination of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindful self-compassion and strength-based approaches.
“I became a social worker because I was drawn to the idea of meeting a client where they are at and helping them achieve their goals in a flexible and individualized approach. Helping clients discover new resilience they never knew they had, has been an honour and highlight in my career.”
